Colston Bassett Stilton

Colston Bassett Stilton

Colston Bassett Stilton is more traditional than any other Stilton, the curd is gently hand-ladled before draining, which makes this  one of the creamiest Stiltons to be found!

Regarded as one of the best Stiltons in the country. Colston Bassett Stilton is the only hand-laded Stilton made today.  It uses traditional rennet in the cheese making process which is uncommon among Stilton.  It is then pierced from side to side to allow the air to enter and activate the blueing process.

The rough pitted exterior has a naturally crusted rind.  Mellow and deliciously creamy with lovely rich deep savoury flavours.  A delicate spicy tang from the blue veins comes through with a rounded and superb lingering finish.

Cow, non Veg, Pasteurised

Interesting fact: Production of Stilton cheese is restricted by law to the counties of Leicestershire, Derbyshire & Nottinghamshire.  This geographical area produces a rich, high quality milk.  The Colston Bassett Stilton dairy  lies near the Nottingham & Leicestershire border
