Where we deliver and cost
We have a standard overnight delivery cost of £7.95 for each address in mainland UK for up to 20kg, so make sure you stock up. Please contact us for Highlands & Islands of Scotland & further afield
Goods are sent by a reputable national overnight courier which ensures next day delivery to mainland UK only
For a smooth operation
Please supply correct delivery address including postcode. Ideally, we'd like to deliver when the recipient is in
Please supply a contact telephone no for the recipient. This is just in case their address cannot be found and a quick call can normally sort this out
We can deliver to any UK home address or place of work. Deliveries will be to the main reception of larger companies. (We cannot be held responsible for their internal distribution)
As we are delivering perishable products we'll ask at checkout for instructions for somewhere the package can be left safely without a signature, just in case nobody is in (e.g: shed, with neighbour).
When will it arrive
During checkout, if you have a preference, select the day you would like the order to be received; We deliver Tues, Wed, Thurs or Friday otherwise choose 'Any'. We aim to send your order out within 48 hours, although if you do have an urgent request, we'll do our utmost to help. In this instance, we advise you telephone your order through before noon for next day delivery, please call 01271 379944 and we'll endeavour to get your package delivered in time.
If you require delivery on a particular date (i.e. birthday) please mark clearly in the 'Special Comments' box when ordering and advise us at least 5 days in advance so we can ensure we have your products in stock
Availability
All products listed on the web site are subject to availability. Some of our cheeses, for example, are either seasonal or come from small producers, and on rare occasions may not be available. If this is the case, we can provide a good alternative, the substitute will be something we consider equally as good or better
If we are waiting to stock up on a particular cheese you require or its unavailabe, we will advise you so you can opt for the alternative or reconfirm delivery timings
Cheese weights
We do our best to cut the cheese accurately, but as you can appreciate this is all done by hand, and can very rarely be precise. What we do is cut to the nearest weight possible and where we are slightly under on one cheese we will make up for it on the next, so the overall amount of cheese we promise will be reached. Again, whole cheeses are approximate in weight as these are handmade, so if listed as 500g this may be slightly over or slightly under
Packaging
All products are delivered in one of our branded white boxes, our cut cheese is wrapped nicely in waxed paper and labelled with the name of each cheese. We add an ice pack so the cheese is kept at the correct temperature in transit and have bubble wrap either side to keep the moisture off the rest of the packaging and products
Environment
We are doing our bit to help the environment by sourcing our hampers and boxes through a company that is committed to ensuring they have the least possible impact on the environment. They source responsibly and take a long-term view on this, which includes a tree-planting scheme. Our wicker products are made from steamed willow, which is sustainable, and no artificial stains are used. Wherever possible the card items are made from recycled material or material with a high-recycled content and all card products are 100% recyclable. The crinkle cut used to fill the hampers and boxes are made from recycled paper and again, these are 100% recyclable
Prices
Prices quoted for cheese are by weight or otherwise by unit and this is specified next to each item. We reserve the right to alter any prices or specifications at any time without notice. If you have placed your order and prices are amended prior to despatch, you will be notified and have the option of cancelling with a full refund
Returns
We make every effort to get your cheese to you in good condition. If, however, you do find that your cheese is not in a satisfactory condition, or has been damaged in transit, please ensure you notify us within 24 hours. We may also need you to return the cheese back to us
Please note we cannot be held responsible for any parcels not being delivered if incorrect delivery information is given. It is at your own risk if a package is left, again, we cannot be held responsible for packages we do leave without obtaining a signature
Payment
We offer secure online payment through Paypal which accepts all major debit and credit cards. A Paypal account is not necessary for payment
Payment by cheque is also acceptable, please select your goods on-line & choose 'purchase by mailing a cheque' when you choose your payment method selection. After verifying your order information and clicking the 'Process Order' button, you will be presented with your order confirmation. Data Privacy
No credit card information is passed onto West Country Cheese and we do not and will not pass your details on to any third party.
