Fortts Original Bath Olivers

Fortts Bath Olivers recipe dates back to the mid-1700s, the creation of Dr William Oliver, a legendary physician in Bath. When he died, he bequeathed to his coachman, the recipe, together with a sack of flour and a tidy sum of money. Mr Atkins, the coachman, promptly set up his biscuit baking business and became rich! After a few changes of ownership, the biscuit recipe passed to James Fortt. Although no longer made in Bath, they are still available and are excellent when eaten with cheese.
