Gres de Vosges

Made in Alsace in France, famous also for Munster cheese and Kirsch making, the latter is a crucial ingredient in the production of this little cheese.

Gres de Vosges is matured in three stages; first it's washed in light brine, then washed with diluted kirsch, then brushed with undiluted kirsch

Its rind is pinkish orange in colour with a very slight granular texture. A mildly pungent but smooth creamy tasting washed rind cheese with an oozy interior but not too runny. Topped off with a pretty decorative fern leaf
